Sony Tablet S: Reviewing the Tablet

As a regular gadget explorer, Sony’s absence in the tablet market was becoming indigestible for me. Sony has never been a leader in market but it has always been a quality checker. I still compare the sound output of my phone with that of a Sony Walkman!

It is not a company which kills to compete but it is the one which stands tall at the rear end and watches everyone kill each other, while creating the best for the generations to come.

Hope, now I seem to be pretty much clear about my opinion for Sony’s Tablet S. I still feel that the two years of delay before entering into the tablet market was planned and properly executed. Hold the Tablet S in your hand to feel the innovation and you will end up mouthing my opinion.

I know, coming into competition so late can be potentially harmful but if you are well equipped, no threats can hamper your existence. Tablet S makers have overdone their work and created a device which not only looks like a beauty pageant award but also has all the brains it is desired to possess.

Before discussing the specifications, let us talk about the shape of Tablet S. It is shaped like a wedge to make its handling easier for the users. This makes it look different and something which you can’t resist holding in your hand.

Apart from the unique make, the following specifications make it a winner in all departments:

Screen Size
9.4”
Display Resolution
1280 * 800 (HD)
Internal Memory
1 GB
Expandable Memory
16 GB & 32 GB
OS
Android HoneyComb
Connectivity
Bluetooth, WiFi
Processor Speed
1 GHz
Exclusive Services
Sony Music Service (giving access to more than 9.5 million tunes), Play Station Integration

Nothing comes without any cons and the same is applicable for Tablet S too. Though a few, these drawbacks can affect its reception:

        1. It doesn’t come with a Micro USB Cable. You will have to purchase it separately (that seems to be annoying!!).

        2. A large amount of memory space seems to be wasted due to the partitioning between the OS and files.

Nonetheless, I won’t give Tablet S a bad response. It has its own pull backs but what more can we expect from the first thing of its kinds!!!

My Rating: *** ½ stars.
