Nokia LUMIA 800: Wrong Time For Nokia & Microsoft

There are lots of expectations attached to something which has two of the giants in their own fields banking on it. Nokia Lumia 800 should have been a masterpiece with Nokia and Microsoft coming together. But news headlines suggest that Lumia which is said to be the next gen Windows 7 mobile device is not doing well in the markets.

Hundreds of marketing gimmicks have not paid at all to Nokia. Even the start up surveys which they conducted before launching the phone in market were not encouraging.

Nokia has been facing this since their S3 launch as N8 but Microsoft is not going to be happy at all with the performance of their Mobile OS which they launched as a competitor to Google’s Android.

Anyways let us talk about the features Lumina 800 phone has in store for its users:

Network Support
2G and 3G
Camera
8 MP with LED Flashes
Video Recording @
720 frames/second
OS
Windows 7
CPU
1.4 Ghz
Memory (Internal)
512 MB
Memory (external)
Upto 16 GB
Data support
GPRS & EDGE
GPS support
YES
FM Radio
YES

The specifications seem to be decent so what can be the reason behind Lumina’s failure.

        1. People have lost faith in Nokia after the evolution of Android’s highly dependable mobiles.

      2. The memory capacity is still incomparable to what other smart phones offer. LG NITRO  seems to rank high at every frame.

       3. Android’s mobile market has not only won the customers but also their trust. It would be difficult for any other OS to rank high now. Wait for sometime till android loses its flavors.

Nokia Lumina has no big disadvantages linked to the features it seems to endow.

But still I feel Nokia and Microsoft collaboration chose the wrong time to launch their dream project. Hope Windows 7 is able to catch up with the market with the HTC Windows phones; otherwise they will also face the same fate as Nokia’s Symbian.
