Acer Iconia Tab A100: The Review

 Acer never rules but it also never quits trying to rule! That’s the best you can have to survive in an environment where you have newborns jumping in and out every single day. Tablet pc market is stiff and the android tablet market is stiffer. Every player wants to introduce something which can make a difference; some do create a dent and some lose the spot without leaving back any trace. Acer Iconica Tab A100 was here to create a dent but still remains unnoticed. Not to forget, every good thing takes some time to happen. Hope the same for Acer in the tablet market with its A500 and the latest A200 tabs.

Pros of owning an Acer Iconia Tab A100

• It runs on Android Honeycomb which is the most stable form of OS for a tablet pc.
• The processor which backs the device is an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core, 1GHz processor.
• The 7” inch display is an HD with a 1024 by 600 pixel resolution.
• The primary camera has a 5 MP resolution and the secondary which can be used for video calls is of 2 MP which is quiet decent.
• Supports a 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity.
• Comes in 2 forms: 8GB and 16GB.

Cons of owning an Acer Iconia Tab A100

• The price is the biggest drawback of the A100 tablet. Marked at $330 for an 8GB model, it exceeds the price of several 10” tablet PCs which are available at as less as $100.
• The battery life is strictly a concern.
• All the ports are in micro form; namely: micro USB and Micro HDMI ports.  

The Regulars of an Android Tab

• The memory is expandable up to 32GB.
• User has access to multiple applications through android market.

Acer Iconia Tab A100 exhibits all the qualities of a decent tablet but nothing seems to be very attractive or very different. Hope A500 & A200 surpass the expectations all the users behold!
